Units of Measurement

Units of measurement (UoM) are used to create materials and products in Jobman.

In this article:

Available UoM - Creating or Importing Catalogue Materials

Available UoM - Price Unit Id and Unit Price Unit Id

Available UoM - Optimisation Id

Available UoM - Products and Product Parts

Available UoM - Creating or Importing Catalogue Materials

When creating a material manually or importing materials, you can choose from the following UoM:

Length/Width/Depth (or Length Unit Id if importing):

  • centimetres (cm)
  • feet (ft)
  • inches (in)
  • metres (m)
  • millimetres (mm)

Volume (or Volume Unit Id if importing):

  • cubic metres (m3)
  • cubic millimetres (mm3)
  • gallons (gal)
  • litres (litre)
  • millilitres (ml)

Weight (or Mass Unit Id if importing):

  • grams (g)
  • kilograms (kg)
  • tonnes (t)

Available UoM - Price Unit Id and Unit Price Unit Id

When setting the price and units for your materials, you can choose from the following UoM, which are case sensitive:

  • each
  • sheet
  • roll
  • piece
  • square_feet
  • square_metre
  • lineal_metre
  • litre
  • pack
  • pair
  • kilogram
  • kilometer
  • mile
  • minute
  • hour
  • day
  • week

If you enter this information incorrectly while attempting to import materials, your import will fail and you will see the following error message:

UoM - Optimisation Id

When selecting the optimisation for a material, you can choose from the following UoM:

Creating a Material:

  • Square Feet
  • Square Metre
  • Lineal Metre

Importing Materials (Optimisation Id field):

Note: These are case sensitive.

  • square_feet
  • square_metre
  • lineal_metre

Important: When optimising your material, you will need to use the same Length Id and Optimisation Id.

  • If using lineal metre or square metre optimisation, you must set the Length Id to metre.
  • If using square feet optimisation, you must set the Length Id to feet.

UoM - Products and Product Parts

When creating a product, the available UoM for length/width/depth, volume and weight are the same as for creating materials:

  • centimetres (cm)
  • feet (ft)
  • inches (in)
  • metres (m)
  • millimetres (mm)
  • cubic metres (m3)
  • cubic millimetres (mm3)
  • gallons (gal)
  • litres (litre)
  • millilitres (ml)
  • grams (g)
  • kilograms (kg)
  • tonnes (t)

When creating a product part or component (specifically a proportional item or style item) the available UoM for length/width/depth, volume and weight are the same, but abbreviated:

  • cm
  • ft
  • in
  • m
  • mm
  • m3
  • mm3
  • gal
  • litre
  • ml
  • g
  • kg
  • t
