How to Manually Add Materials to Your Catalogue

Add your catalogue items that you purchase from your suppliers. If you don't have many items, you can add these in manually by following the steps below, alternatively you can bulk import all of your catalogue items using csv.file. To do this see: Importing Catalogue Items. Access this by clicking 'Catalogue' from your user menu panel.

Use this feature to manage the catalogue items and configure the sale price calculations. 


Adding Catalogue Items

  1. Access your Catalogue tab from the user menu panel and make sure you are in the 'Materials' tab.
  2. Click 'Create'.
  3. Enter the product name and choose your supplier from the dropdown.
  4. Enter your SKU and barcode if applicable.
  5. Select the category for your material item.
  6. Add any notes for the product.
  7. Moving down - enter the Brand, Range, Finish & Colour.

  8. Enter the measurements of your material or product.
  9. Set your pricing (examples below) and pricing strategy, overheads, wastage and profit margins.
  10. Select your optimisation if required.
  11. Set the status for the material or product.
  12. Finalise by clicking 'Create'.
If this material is from a supplier not yet set up in your software, click the 'Add new Supplier' to create this on the spot. The same applies for the Category.
Add your measurements if available. Not all fields have to be completed.

Pricing Glossary

  1. Price of the Catalogue Item (what you're purchasing).
  2. Units per Item = Quantity received when ordering this material.

    - ie: pack of 30, square meters per item etc.

  3. Material Type. See examples below.

How Pricing Calculations Work

Entering by Item Price:

  1. Enter the item price.
  2. Enter the units per item.

Jobman will automatically calculate your price per unit.

Entering by Unit Price:

  1. Enter the price per unit.
  2. Enter the units per item.

Jobman will automatically calculate your item price.


Update Catalogue Items: You can update any of these fields by simply clicking into the material from your catalogue and clicking the 'Update' button. From here, make your required updates and finalise by clicking 'Save Changes'.
