How to Connect your CAD-CAM Software

Connecting your CAD-CAM software will help you automate quoting with importing your products lists and material/reports/summaries into jobs.

Here's a list of the current CAD-CAM integrations available with Jobman.

Connecting your CAD-CAM software

To integrate with your CAD-CAM software, access your 'Settings' from the user menu panel, click into 'Integrations' and follow the below steps:

  1. Choose your CAD-CAM software from the list.
  2. Click the 'Connect to *CAD-CAM software*'.
  3. You will be redirected to finalise your integration.

Once connected, this will not display as shown below.


Import Products from your CAD-CAM software into your Quote

Easily import your products from your CAD-CAM software into an existing quote, for new quotes carry on from step 4 below.

  1. Access your Quotes from the user menu panel.
  2. Click into the quote you want to import your products into.
  3. Click 'Update'.
  4. Click on the 'Add New' button in your quote.
  5. Choose 'Import' to open the Import window.
  6. Choose your CAD-CAM software from the 'Driver' dropdown.
  7. Choose the quote section you want to import to.
  8. Drag & drop or click to upload your file.
  9. Click 'Import', this will upload, once complete, click 'Import' again.

You'll then be taken to an 'Import Items' window where you can match each of the items to be imported along with the action to perform. For each item that has been picked up from your import you can choose to Create, Update or Ignore. See below for screenshot references, once you've completed this, finalise by clicking 'Import'.


Click 'Add New' then choose 'Import'.

Choose your software provider and which quote section this is to go to.
Upload your file here.
Once upload is complete, it will show here, finalise by clicking Import.
Here's what has come through from your import.
Match an action to each item.

Import Item Components & Actions

Components - refers to the number of products, or line items that will be added to your quote.

Create - if you select 'Create' this will add these as new items into your quote.

Update - if you select 'Update' this will update any pre-existing quote items.

Ignore - if you select 'Ignore' no adjustments will be made to your quote.

Advanced Options: to replace the existing components that are in your quote, click the checkbox for 'Replace existing Components'.

Now you've imported your products and components you can click to open and see the components that have come through.

Highlighted below in red: are the product names/SKU's that matching identically in both CAD-CAM software and Jobman.

Highlighted below in blue: has listed as a line item only, as this product name/SKU exists in CAD-CAM, however not in Jobman.

Information: for products that match identically in both your CAD-CAM and Jobman, the assigned 'style' will allow the product to price the material options set in the style for all the assigned parts allocated to a product. If your products have been set up with the labour duration assigned, this will also calculate in the quote. 


Material Import from CAD-CAM into a Job

Import your materials to a job by accessing the 'Jobs' tab from your user menu panel and follow the below steps. We've also got a helpful video below!

  1. Open the job you want to import your materials to.
  2. Click on the job 'Resources' tab.
  3. Click into 'Materials'.
  4. Click the 'Import' button.
  5. Choose your CAD-CAM software from the Driver dropdown & click 'Import'.
  6. Click to upload your file.
  7. If you have a job item set up, you can your assign your materials to it here.
  8. Finalise by clicking 'Import'.

Once you've completed your import, use the 'Source All' button to assign your materials. A popup will appear for you to choose the source location. You will see an option to add dates for 'Order After' and 'Required By', this is where you can set dates for any items required on a Purchase Order.

Advanced Option: 'replace existing materials' will replace any current materials with your imported materials.

Important: the items on the import file must match identically to your SKU's in your catalogue. If some of your items don't match you will receive an error message as shown below. To fix this you will need to add or update your current catalogue materials with the matching SKU. Once this has been corrected you can complete your import.
