Understanding Capacity Planning

Use capacity planning to see all of your scheduled jobs and their required tasks, along with due dates and see how this fits in to your allocated staff hours so you have a full overview and complete understanding of your current and future work loads. This data is pulled from your Target Calendar so once you have this and your Labour Centre settings configured, you're ready to go!

Accessing your Capacity Planning Report

From the user menu panel, click into 'Capacity', you will be directed to your default planner which is an overall view of all your labour centres. To further drill down into these follow the below steps:

  1. Under 'Labour Centres' at the top of your screen click the dropdown arrow.
  2. Select one or multiple labour centres to define the parameters of your report.

Now you've selected the labour centres that you want to view, you'll see the total hours allocated vs the actual task/operation durations for each day. From here you can see what your availability is and plan and provide accurate deadlines for your team and your clients.

Tip: hover over each bar to see the total available hours vs scheduled hours.

Target Calendar & Capacity Planning

Your Target Calendar provides the information to your Capacity Planner, so once you've viewed your planner, if you need to move or view a task or operation, you can do this by going to your Target Calendar. Any changes will then reflect back to your planner.

Labour Centre Settings

Having all your labour centre settings configured is an important step in the set up of your Jobman. This will allow you to track and report more accurately and provide more of an in-depth view of your time availability.

For more information on setting up your labour centres see: Setup Labour Centre Parameters.
